Royal Spine Surgery Clinic in Arizona Acquires New Technology to Better Assess Concussion

Scottsdale, AZ –06/05/2025- Royal Spine Surgery in Scottsdale, AZ is the latest clinic in Arizona to offer a new test to diagnose concussion, EyeBOX® manufactured by the Wisconsin based company, Oculogica. The test is based on eye-tracking technology and is the first FDA approved test for concussion that does not require a pre-injury baseline test. The EyeBOX test is under 4 minutes long and as easy as watching TV for patients to take.

“As a neurosurgeon, I’ve relied on clinical assessment to diagnose and manage patients with traumatic brain injuries. However, with the introduction of the EyeBOX, we now have a cutting-edge, non-invasive tool that provides objective insights into concussion diagnosis and monitoring. This innovative technology enables us to validate diagnoses, track patient progress, and tailor treatment plans with greater precision. By leveraging the EyeBOX, we can expedite accurate diagnoses and get patients on the path to recovery – whether that’s returning to play or pursuing targeted therapy – more efficiently,” explains neurosurgeon Dr. Mohamed Abdulhamid, head of Royal Spine Surgery.

EyeBOX helps physicians who may not have pre-injury, baseline information on a patient, to get important, objective information to inform their concussion diagnosis. Administering the EyeBOX test is easy; patients watch a video for less than four minutes. The EyeBOX collects and analyzes over 100,000 data points to generate an individualized assessment called a BOX Score, which is correlated with the absence or presence of concussion. The EyeBOX has been the subject of 16 peer-reviewed research publications, 5 FDA clearances for concussion, and numerous patents.

The EyeBOX is now offered at Royal Spine Surgery located at 9377 E Bell Rd #343, Scottsdale Arizona 85260. For more information on EyeBOX at Royal Spine Surgery or to make an appointment, visit www.royalspinesurgery.com or call 480-613-8166.
